It’s time for the 10th Annual Brian Pitts Memorial Golf Classic!! 10 years… wow it doesn’t seem like it. We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the support over the years. I believe we have been able to make some sort of difference in local lives and that’s all our dream has ever been. We know Brian is proud and looking down smiling.
Last year we donated our proceeds to Gabe Basaraba’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionary Campaign. Gabe attended Etowah High School and was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after seeing several doctors and his concerns about cancer being overlooked. I have attached a letter from Gabe during the beginning of his campaign to outline what the campaign is about and more of his story. Below are some of his accomplishments sent from his mother, Tammy Basaraba.
-He graduated salutatorian of his class
-Made a 34 on the ACT
-Received the highest merit scholarship Auburn has to give
-2 engineering scholarships and one from the computer science department
-He was selected as one of Fox 6’s Rising Star Scholarship recipients
-He ran a successful campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (with the help of the Brian Pitts Foundation)
-Gabe will be heading to Auburn in a few short weeks to start his freshman year.
The tournament this year will be held on August 24, 2024 at The Links at Briarmeade. We are currently full on teams and are taking wait list only at this time. Please reach out for a spot as we always have opportunities arise before tournament day. We have an incredible turn out every year and are blessed to be able to say we are full before posting information about the tournament. Thank you all again.
We miss you Brian Taylor. We can’t wait for another great golf tournament.
