Packet Pick-Up Party

You can pick up your packets at packet pick up on Friday night, June 14th, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the Kiwanis Pavilion at Noccalula Falls Park 1500 Noccalula Road Gadsden, AL. Have your race confirmation with bar code in hand! Know your horde time!  Kids packets will also be available for pick up at the Packet Pick Up Party on Friday night at the Kiwanis Pavilion. If you are picking up for another adult please have a copy of their ID with you. Packets can be picked up on race day if you can not make it on Friday.

Race Day Registration

You can register in person on race day. T-shirts may or may not be available at this time. The cost is now $85 per person for non-competitive and $95 for competitive and you must show up an hour before your desired horde time to register on race day. You can register on site at packet pick up or race day.

Determination
That can-do attitude? Bring it. You’ll need it on this course. This race is meant to test you – that’s a promise and a guarantee. Be prepared for a race beyond your wildest dreams. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be a Barbarian Challenge.

Dedication
This race isn’t just for anyone. It’s for the brave, the strong, the fierce. For those who train harder than they play. No, this isn’t your grandmother’s 5k. It requires dedication to get through some pretty insane obstacles that stand between you and greatness.

Drive
and we don’t mean in a car. Many show up with winning on their minds, and that’s just the way we like it. Run your toughest trails, jump over your highest obstacles, and don’t be afraid to get a little dirty. The course is made for true Barbarians, remember?

The Barbarian Challenge was first held at Noccalula Falls Park in 2011 and it was directed by Extreme Events LLC. In 2015 the City of Gadsden bought the rights to the race and the Park and Recreation Department has directed it ever since. The Barbarian Challenge takes place once a year, on the 3rd Saturday in June at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, AL. It is approximately 6 miles and consists of 20 plus obstacles and tough terrain. You also get to run in the gorge of the 90 ft water fall that is the centerpiece of the park. It is the south’s most scenic OCR! Follow The Barbarian Challenge on Facebook to keep up with new info.
