Beer & Hymns Gadsden is a time for grabbing a drink and a friend and singing those old familiar songs we all know. From campfire songs to old hymns and more.
Come take a load off and sing along with friends. Though we enjoy a beer there is no pressure, there are waters and other drinks available too.
We provide lyric booklets for each event. If you would like to host a Beer and Hymns event at your bar or restaurant, message the page or post. Thanks!
We gather. We socialize. We sing. We meet new people. We are friendly to each other.
Mostly hymns, but we dabble in folk songs (young and old). We value tradition, but also silliness and mashups. We leaders have noticed that you can do a lot with the human voice and the crowd dynamic. Please know: this is not a concert. Audience participation is the goal. The crowd is the (actual) stage.
We sing about 6 songs, take a 15-minute break, then repeat. We do three sets. We list the songs in advance for the night.
We have pre-made booklets of songs — included free. You can see what these look like in this group and each event — these change with each event. The one that is up now may or may not be the very latest. We do our best to keep things fresh and tasty.
We event organizers humbly ask our guests to please bring money for the purchase of beverages (and/or available food) from the bar – we want to be good partners with our venues. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Dates: 3/11, 6/10, 9/9, 12/9.
