From mistaking her new baby brother for a monkey, to hating the “stupid, smelly bus” she rides to school, to constantly getting in trouble for her strong sense of self, Juniper Beatrice Jones has spent nearly three decades inspiring a wide array of opinions. Since the release of the first of 28 books in 1992, however, there has been no doubt that Barbara Park’s spunky character, Junie B. Jones, is wildly popular with children and adults alike. Her antics are full of teachable moments and offer a peek at the perspectives of the little kids in our lives. In fact, Junie B. is so popular, she has inspired 7 stage adaptations so far, including Junie B. Jones: Jingle Bells, Batman Smells.
