Christmas With The Cardinals

The Gadsden State Community College Show Band and A Cappella Choir will continue their annual holiday tradition with Christmas with the Cardinals, a festive performance featuring holiday music in a variety of styles. The free event will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9 in the Inzer Hall- Black Box Theatre on the Wallace Drive Campus.

“The choral groups will provide holiday music full of cheer and entertainment at this year’s Christmas with the Cardinals,” said J.T. Harrell, director of the A Cappella Choir. “As director, this is my favorite time of the year. People are always eager to hear Christmas music and celebrate the season of giving.”

The A Cappella Choir will perform a collection of classic Christmas carols along with other seasonal favorites.

Desmond Mitchell, director of the Show Band, said he collaborated with students to choose the song selections for the event.

“We invite the entire community to enjoy the Christmas with the Cardinals performance from the GSCC Show Band, filled with classics and contemporary songs,” he said. “Sing along to a mix of pop, R&B, soul and country Christmas music performed by our musicians and singers.”

Students from the Division of Fine Arts have transformed the venue into a warm and welcoming holiday setting for guests of all ages.

“Christmas with the Cardinals is free to the public. We invite our community to come and experience the Christmas spirit with the Gadsden State Cardinal family,” said Mario Gallardo, chair of the Division of Fine Arts. “Our students are excited for the opportunity to showcase their talents and spread holiday cheer.”
