DDC Presents Sisters of the Moonlight and Tide

Meet us where the ocean touches the sky. 🌙🌊🌅
Coming Spring 2026 - An original production by Downtown Dance Conservatory: Sisters of the Moonlight & Tide. A story representing the opposition in our nature - longing for the other side, only to realize everything we need is right within our own power and strength. Two sisters fall into their own new destiny - destiny is rarely what it seems. ✨
The story starts where two young sisters enter a hidden treasure cove in their fishing village on the night of the full-moon. They are starstruck by the bright moonlight peeking into the cove, and the two sisters were quickly transformed into mermaids. The curse follows them throughout their lives, and each evening at midnight they transform into mermaids only to become their worldly selves again at sunrise. Follow their story as they find their curse is actually just an opportunity… 🌊🌅🪸🪼🚢🐚
Opposition is an opportunity for growth, there would be no push without a pull - much like the tide and the rhythms of day and night. The day goes on its way, and the tide is steadfast. Serene to turbulent, light to dark, order to chaos, sunrise to sunset, moon to tide - can one exist without the other?
Meet us where the ocean touches the sky. 😍🌅
“For growing trees are strengthened
When they withstand the storm,
And the sharp cut of a chisel
Gives the marble grace and form…”
