Possum Day with Sandmountain Sam at Bama Bucks in Sardis City

Coming soon “Possum Day at WQSB". February 2nd is the official day in the south where we put all our trust in the upcoming prediction of the weather from a possum. This year Sam (the possum) will awake in a small town in Sardis City, which is in North Alabama. That day he will either see or not see his shadow depending on the day. Sam lives at an animal sanctuary located at Bama Bucks.

A convoy of wagons, mules and horses will leave out the morning of February the 2nd at 7AM from Bama Bucks and head to WQSB, a 6.9 mile trip. The 2026 Possum Queen will also arrive in one of the wagons. Join us for a great time and a great ride. There he will be a part of a national known event called Possum Day! Sam will make his big announcement around 9:00 that morning. Come join us that day as we celebrate one of the biggest events on the mountain, and by the way dress for the occasion.
Overalls, straw hats, corn cob pipes. Just plan ole hillbilly.
