Pre-Steam Kids – Meat Lovers
Meat Lovers introduces young learners to carnivores and the exciting world of predators, prey, and food webs. Through interactive discussion, hands-on sorting, and creative art, children explore what carnivores eat, how they hunt, and how all living things are connected in an ecosystem. Students will examine animal characteristics such as teeth, eyes, and speed to understand the difference between predators and prey. Using animal figures and craft materials, they will work together to build simple food chains and then expand them into a food web that shows how animals depend on plants, other animals, and the earth for survival. This lesson encourages observation, classification, and early science reasoning as children compare herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Through outdoor exploration, group learning, and a creative food-web diagram they take home, students gain a clearer understanding of how animals interact and the ?circle of life? that connects us all.
