Built in 1935, as a WPA (Works Progress Administration) project, from all locally-sourced sandstone, the 'Amp' has served as host for concerts, weddings, boxing matches, haunted houses, and rewards ceremonies. It hosts a free concert series every First Friday during the summer. The amphitheater seats 1,600 people, and was adopted as a National Historic Place.
